Across the developing world, more children than ever are in school \xe2\x80\x93 but they are not learning. A recent study estimated that less than 1% of school children in Sub-Saharan Africa attend a school where the teaching meets basic standards of quality. We are a growing network of inspiring schools in West Africa. Our mission is to unleash the full potential of every student, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and character to succeed in further study, work, and day-to-day life. We support more than 250,000 students across Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Ghana through a combination of low cost private schools we manage directly, and partnership schools we manage in collaboration with governments. Independent evaluations have found that Rising students make learning gains two to three times larger than their peers in comparable schools.

We have recently closed our and won a multi-year, multi-million dollar grant to accelerate the development of our digital ed-tech solutions for low-income students across the globe. Our \xe2\x80\x98Bambai\xe2\x80\x99 suite of digital tools already includes a school information system, school observation tool, chatbot tutor, accelerated learning program and teacher coaching app. This is just the start. We want to expand our range of digital products to help improve the quality of education for millions of students around the world. About the role:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst with exceptional abilities to lead the planning, design, and execution of test plans, test scripts, and process plans for projects. The Quality Assurance Analyst will conduct testing on software, websites, and other technical products to identify and resolve bugs, defects, and other potential issues.

The Quality Assurance Analyst will work closely with various departments to perform and validate test cases based on quality requirements, and recommend changes to predetermined quality guidelines. You will be responsible for ensuring that the end product meets the highest quality standards while also being fully functional and user-friendly.

The Quality Assurance Analyst will:

• Review design specifications to understand the scope, requirements, and function of the products.
• Identify appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and validate; parameters may include general function, validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct testing to ensure products perform according to user requirements and within established guidelines.
• Identify features that fall out of specification, and report defects to engineers while also identifying and recommending solutions, improvements, and updates.
• Working closely with the product and engineering team on the design and development of new features
• Recommend, implement and monitor preventative and corrective actions to ensure that quality assurance standards are achieved.
• Implement and monitor test scripts to assess functionality, reliability, performance, and quality of the service or product.
• Identify, log, and recreate error codes, bugs, and defects.

Location and reporting: This is a full-time remote position. Candidates should be based anywhere in India. The Quality Assurance Analyst will report directly to Rising\xe2\x80\x99s Software Engineering Manager.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Control.
• Extensive knowledge of software and database testing, including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored jobs, and error replication.
• Extensive experience in gathering test requirements and defining quality metrics to measure product quality based on specifications or verbal communications.
• Experience with end-to-end testing - Testing Planning, Test Execution, UAT, Regression.
• Experience creating automation test suites at scale, in at least one of these tools or similar: Provar, JUnit, Bamboo, Silk Test, Selenium, Appium or Cypress.
• Experience in TDD, JIRA, Scrum.
• Experience with PWAs and Android mobile testing.
• Strong data analytics experience & using data to increase customer satisfaction.

• You are willing to take risks, fail, learn, give and receive feedback, and try new approaches.
