Job Summary Responsibilities Comcast Production Software Engineering organization is seeking a Software Quality Engineer who will be responsible for independently performing hands-on testing for various production applications and projects at any given time, with a focus on automation. The Quality Assurance Engineer will build test cases from requirements and user stories, defining the testing strategy, testing scripts, testing data requirements, coordinate testing activities, ensure environment set up, prepare and execute testing and communicate status for functional, system, end-to-end, user acceptance and performance testing in a fast-paced, agile environment using an agile planning and & delivery process to ensure successful product, project, and application releases. This role will work IST hours with some overlap with ET US hours for daily scrums and handoff to onshore team.



SPECIFIC DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members such as Scrum Leads, Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Architects & Site Reliability Engineers, UX Designers, and Product Managers (Contractors and/or Staff)
• Conducts testing across multiple projects, determining the appropriate automation strategy and/or manual testing strategy (when required)
• Establishes automation frameworks that improves quality, drives down cycle time, increases coverage and integrates with the DevOps pipeline
• Works alongside team members, performing hands-on testing, programming, scripting, and debugging
• Utilizes metrics to measure accomplishments and monitors progress, ensuring defects are quickly communicated and projects are completed on-time
• Responsible for ensuring features meet specified requirements
• Technical root cause analysis of defects
• Report and triage detailed bug reports
• Definition of test plans, test scripts, test data requirements, etc.
• Planning test environments and automation strategies.
• Preparation of automation frameworks and test runs for API back ends
• Preparation of automation frameworks and test runs for frontend clients
• Preparation of builds and deployments and Support of production deployments
• Communicates progress and the impact of solutions in technical terms to technology partners and in business terms to business partners
• Provides expertise and support for test and operational problems to determine presence and scope of potential defects
• Establishes a reputation as a technical expert, keeping current with new technologies, developing innovative technical ideas and generating proposals
• Works with product teams to learn business objectives, engineering to understand architecture and align test strategy, and operations on environments and deployments
• Participates in Scrums, demos, and other Agile ceremonies and ensures accurate and timely status updates to the application team

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years\' experience with formalized software testing experience with an emphasis on automation
• Hands-on experience building automation frameworks and utilizing frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Serenity, TestNG and JUnit, with fluent Java coding skills.
• Experience automating testing for both front-end applications and back-end services, including integrations (e.g., REST APIs, SOAP).
• Minimum 2 years\' experience testing REST APIs, SOAP-automated and manual.
• Java programming experience
• Experience with Swagger
• Understanding of and experience testing in cloud environments, particularly AWS
• Experience integrating tests into a CI/CD pipeline with tools like Jenkins
• Proficient with agile tools like Jira, Confluence Wiki, and GitHub or similar.
• Experience working with both remote onshore and offshore team members

• Willingness to work off-hours and on weekends when necessary and depending on project needs and at times on short notice
