Job Description

A QS (Quantity Surveyor) Billing Engineer in the construction industry is responsible for managing the financial aspects of a construction project, including estimating costs, preparing bills, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. They work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to manage project budgets and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Here's a more detailed breakdown of the key responsibilities:1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

Preparing detailed project cost estimates:

This involves analyzing project drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents to estimate the cost of materials, labor, and other resources.

Developing and managing project budgets:

This includes tracking expenses, monitoring costs against the budget, and identifying potential cost overruns or savings.

Preparing bill of quantities (BOQ):

This involves quantifying all the materials and work required for a project, which forms the basis for tendering and billing.

Rate analysis:

Determining the cost of individual items of work based on market rates and project specifications.
2. Billing and Payment Management:

Preparing and processing client bills (RA bills):

This involves measuring the work completed, calculating the corresponding payment due, and submitting bills to the client.

Managing subcontractor billing:

Ensuring that subcontractor bills are accurate and processed in a timely manner.

Reconciling quantities and measurements:

Verifying that the quantities billed by contractors match the actual work completed on site.

Managing payment schedules and cash flow:

Ensuring that payments are made according to the contract terms and that the project has sufficient cash flow.
3. Contract Management and Compliance:

Reviewing contracts and variations:

Ensuring that contracts are accurately interpreted and that variations are properly documented and accounted for.

Ensuring compliance with IS codes and standards:

Maintaining a thorough understanding of relevant codes and standards and ensuring that the project complies with them.

Resolving billing discrepancies and disputes:

Collaborating with project managers and legal teams to resolve any billing-related issues.
4. Other Responsibilities:

Preparing and analyzing project progress reports:

This includes tracking progress against the project schedule, identifying potential delays, and recommending corrective actions.

Material reconciliation:

Tracking the consumption of materials and reconciling them with the quantities used in the project.

Preparing cost reports and forecasts:

Providing regular updates on the project's financial status to the project team and management.

Participating in tendering and procurement:

Assisting with the evaluation of bids and the selection of subcontractors.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹16,887.64 - ₹35,000.00 per month
