Job Description

Cost Planning & Control:
Develop Cost Estimates & Budgets:

• Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost plans during the pre-construction phase.
• Estimate quantities, labor, materials, and overheads, and assess the overall project budget.
• Develop detailed cost forecasts, identifying potential risks to the budget.

Cost Monitoring & Reporting:

• Continuously monitor and track project costs against budgets and ensure cost control measures are implemented.
• Report on cost variances, providing recommendations for corrective actions where necessary.
• Manage and track change orders, ensuring all costs are accounted for.

Value Engineering:

• Identify opportunities for cost savings through value engineering without compromising quality and scope.
• Provide solutions to optimize costs, improve value, and manage resources efficiently.

Procurement Strategy:

• Assist in the development of procurement strategies and assist with tendering and negotiation processes.
• Manage contracts and agreements to ensure value for money and risk mitigation.

Scheduling & Time Management:
Develop & Maintain Project Schedules:

• Create detailed project schedules, including work breakdown structures (WBS) and milestones.
• Coordinate with the project team to ensure realistic timelines are set and agreed upon.
• Develop project schedules in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or Asta Powerproject.

Monitor Progress & Ensure On-time Delivery:

• Track the progress of the project against the baseline schedule and provide updates to senior management.
• Identify any delays or issues affecting timelines, and proactively suggest solutions to get the project back on track.

Resource Planning:

• Ensure the optimal allocation of resources (labor, materials, machinery) to meet project deadlines.
• Identify any potential bottlenecks and develop strategies to address them in collaboration with project teams.

Risk & Delay Management:

• Anticipate potential delays and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
• Assess the impact of delays on both costs and schedules and advise project stakeholders on the best course of action.
