Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled QS Engineer to join our esteemed organization within the construction industry. This position is integral to ensuring that all construction projects are executed efficiently while adhering to high standards of quality and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of quantity surveying principles and practices, and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the quantity surveying functions for various projects. The QS Engineer will play a pivotal role in cost planning, monitoring, and controlling the financial aspects of projects, thereby ensuring that project budgets are maintained. Furthermore, the candidate will liaise with different stakeholders, including project managers, architects, and contractors to provide accurate cost assessments, prepare tender documents, and conduct value engineering analyses. The QS Engineer will also be expected to maintain a strong focus on the latest industry standards and best practices, adapting to evolving technologies and methodologies to ensure optimal project delivery. As an essential member of our team, the QS Engineer will enhance the overall efficiency and success of our construction projects by implementing effective cost management strategies, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our operating procedures.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects. Conduct periodic cost analysis to ensure financial objectives are being met. Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts for accurate quantification of materials and labor. Develop and maintain a system for recording and monitoring project costs and expenditures. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to provide financial insights and advice during the project lifecycle. Prepare and submit claims for variations, extensions of time, and other contractual amendments as necessary. Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and evaluate bids received from contractors.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a QS Engineer in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, methodologies, and regulations. Proficient in cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
