Role Objective
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to manage all costs relating to our construction and interior projects. The ideal candidate will work across both the office and various project sites to ensure that the physical progress matches the financial documentation, maintaining our commitment to quality and budget adherence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Construction & Tendering:
Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) from architectural and structural drawings.
Conduct thorough material take-offs for Civil, MEP, and Interior works.
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and cost estimates for new turnkey projects.
2. Site-Based Responsibilities:
Frequent site visits to perform physical verification of work executed versus billed quantities.
Monitor on-site material wastage and implement cost-control measures.
Verify and certify subcontractor bills and measurements at the site level.
3. Cost Management & Billing:
Manage client billing (RA Bills) and ensure timely submission and certification.
Analyze and negotiate quotes from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
Track variations/change orders and prepare cost-impact reports for management.
4. Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain a robust database of current market rates for materials and labor.
Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget vs. actual analysis.
Ensure all commercial documentation complies with company standards and project timelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering. A PG Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is a plus.
Experience:
4 to 7 years in a contracting environment, preferably with a mix of Civil Construction and Interior Fit-out projects.
Software Proficiency
: Advanced Excel, AutoCAD, and experience with ERP software .
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of IS codes, standard modes of measurement, and turnkey project lifecycles.
Communication: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to coordinate effectively between site engineers, vendors, and the management team.
