The

QMS Manager

is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the organization's

Quality Management System

in compliance with applicable standards such as

ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, GMP, or other regulatory requirements

. The role ensures product, process, and system compliance while promoting a culture of quality across the organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesQMS Development & Maintenance

Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System as per applicable standards. Ensure QMS documentation (Quality Manual, SOPs, policies, procedures, records) is current and controlled. Monitor system effectiveness and initiate improvements.
Compliance & Certification

Ensure compliance with ISO, customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements. Lead certification, surveillance, and re-certification audits. Coordinate with certification bodies, customers, and regulatory authorities.
Internal Audits

Plan and conduct internal audits across departments. Identify non-conformities and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Track audit findings and closure status.
Process & Product Quality

Ensure process controls and quality standards are followed across production and support functions. Monitor quality KPIs and performance trends. Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Documentation Control

Establish document control procedures. Review and approve SOPs, work instructions, and quality records. Ensure proper version control and record retention.
Training & Awareness

Conduct QMS training and awareness programs for employees. Ensure employees understand quality policies, objectives, and procedures.
Customer & Supplier Quality

Handle customer complaints, investigations, and corrective actions. Support customer audits and quality-related queries. Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance.
Continuous Improvement

Drive continual improvement initiatives using quality tools (PDCA, Kaizen, 5 Why, Fishbone). Support risk management and process optimization.
Management Review

Prepare and present data for Management Review Meetings (MRM). Track action items and follow up on improvement plans.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Quality Management. Certification in ISO 9001 Lead Auditor (preferred).
Experience

5-10 years of experience in Quality Management Systems. Experience in manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial environments preferred. Hands-on experience with ISO standards and audits.
Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of QMS standards and compliance requirements Audit management and documentation skills Analytical and problem-solving ability Leadership and cross-functional coordination Excellent communication and training skills Proficiency in MS Office and QMS tools
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Audit findings closure rate Compliance score and certification status Reduction in non-conformities and customer complaints Effectiveness of CAPA QMS improvement initiatives implemented
Authority & Accountability

Authority to stop processes/products that do not meet quality requirements. Accountable for QMS compliance, audit performance, and continual improvement
