Job Description

To lead and manage the Quality Control Microbiology Laboratory, ensuring all microbiological testing, documentation, and compliance activities meet cGLP, GMP, and regulatory requirements. The role involves supervision of laboratory operations, resource management, and coordination with cross-functional departments to ensure timely and accurate testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all activities in the QC Microbiology Laboratory. Plan and organize work based on testing requirements and priorities. Ensure compliance with cGLP, GMP, and internal quality standards. Supervise qualification, validation, and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment. Conduct training for laboratory personnel to maintain high competency and compliance levels. Ensure timely preparation and uploading of master specifications and release documentation. Coordinate with Production and QA departments for updates on existing and new products. Optimize utilization of manpower, instruments, and laboratory resources. Supervise timely execution of equipment/instrument validation, analytical method validation, cleaning validation, and internal calibration. Ensure proper documentation and review of analyst validation, instrument qualification (DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ), change control, and deviations. Maintain and update daily observations, testing results, and reports to the reporting authority. Perform testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished products. Conduct environmental monitoring of controlled areas. Record, analyze, and interpret microbiological data accurately. Investigate and document any Out of Specification (OOS) results. Handle all microbiological instruments and equipment efficiently.

Qualifications and Experience:

Educational Qualification:

M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Microbiology

Professional Experience:

Minimum

3 to 5 years

of relevant experience in

Quality Control Microbiology

within a

pharmaceutical industry

Excellent communication, leadership, and team coordination abilities with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
