The QC Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all interior design projects--including furniture, carpentry, modular works, metal fabrication, and site execution--meet the company's quality standards. This role involves establishing QC processes, conducting inspections, coordinating with design, production, and installation teams, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Quality Control & Inspection
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures for design, production, and site installation.
Perform regular inspections of materials, samples, shop drawings, joinery works, finishes, and site installation.
Verify compliance with approved drawings, BOQ, technical specifications, and project requirements.
Identify defects, non-conformance, and quality deviations; issue NCRs and ensure timely corrective actions.
Inspect workmanship for carpentry, modular furniture, metalwork, glass, upholstery, electrical and plumbing works (as related to interior projects).
2. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare QC checklists, inspection reports, NCR logs, and quality documentation.
Ensure proper documentation for materials, vendor approvals, mock-ups, and final inspections.
Maintain complete QC records as per ISO/QMS standards.
3. Coordination
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, designers, production team, and subcontractors to ensure quality compliance.
Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project quality discussions.
Work closely with procurement to ensure material quality meets specifications.
4. Process Improvement
Develop and implement continuous improvement plans to enhance project quality.
Recommend improvements in production methods, material selection, and installation practices.
Conduct internal quality audits and training for site and production teams.
5. Safety & Compliance
Ensure all QC activities are aligned with safety regulations and compliance standards.
Verify that materials and processes comply with industry standards (IS codes, design guidelines, etc.).
Skills & Competencies Required
Strong knowledge of interior fit-out processes, joinery, modular furniture, and metal fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings, BOQs, specifications, and technical details.
Excellent inspection, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Good understanding of ISO/QMS procedures.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Interior Design / Architecture / Similar Experience .
5-12 years of experience in QC roles in interior design, furniture manufacturing, joinery, or metal fabrication.
Experience in site execution and production QC is an advantage.
