Position Title:Quality Control (QC) Manager - Elevator Manufacturing / Manufacturing

Department:Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Reporting To:Plant Head / Operations Head

Location:Factory / Manufacturing Unit

Job Purpose:

The QC Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining quality control systems to ensure that elevator components and finished products meet company standards, customer requirements, and applicable national and international safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Planning & Systems:

Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Control procedures, inspection plans, and checklists for elevator manufacturing.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety norms, and statutory requirements related to elevator manufacturing.
Maintain and update quality manuals, SOPs, work instructions, and records.

2. Incoming, In-Process & Final Inspection:

Oversee incoming material inspection for raw materials, bought-out parts, and subcontracted items.
Monitor in-process inspections at various manufacturing stages (fabrication, machining, assembly, finishing).
Ensure final inspection and testing of elevator systems/components before dispatch.

3. Testing & Compliance:

Ensure proper functional, load, dimensional, and safety testing of elevator components and systems.
Coordinate with testing agencies, consultants, or third-party inspectors when required.
Ensure compliance with relevant elevator codes, standards, and customer specifications.

4. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions:

Identify, document, and analyze non-conformities.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Monitor rejection trends and initiate continuous improvement activities.

5. Team Management:

Lead, train, and supervise QC inspectors and engineers.
Allocate duties, monitor performance, and ensure skill development of the QC team.
Conduct regular quality meetings and toolbox talks.

6. Vendor & Customer Quality:

Conduct vendor quality audits and evaluations.
Coordinate with suppliers for quality improvements and issue resolution.
Handle customer complaints, site quality issues, and inspection clearances

7. Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test certificates, and calibration records.
Prepare MIS reports on quality performance, rejections, and improvements.
Support internal and external audits.

8. Continuous Improvement & Safety:

Drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and rework.
Ensure quality practices align with workplace safety and manufacturing best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or relevant discipline.
Certification in Quality Management (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.) is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 4-10 years of experience in Quality Control within elevator manufacturing or related engineering/manufacturing industries.
Proven experience in handling audits, inspections, and quality systems.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of elevator manufacturing processes and quality standards.
Expertise in inspection tools, measuring instruments, and testing procedures.
Good understanding of ISO systems, documentation, and compliance.
Leadership and team management skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and quality reporting tools.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Reduction in rejection and rework rates.
Audit compliance and closure of NCs.
Customer satisfaction and complaint resolution.
On-time inspection and dispatch clearances.

Working Conditions:

Factory-based role with regular shop-floor presence.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?70,000.00 per month
