Job Description

A Fabrication QC Manager develops and implements quality control procedures to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications. Key responsibilities include supervising the quality team, inspecting materials and finished products, conducting audits, analyzing quality data, and collaborating with other departments to resolve issues and improve processes. Develop and implement quality systems:

Create and manage quality control (QC) processes, policies, and procedures to meet company objectives and industry standards.

Supervise quality teams:

Train, mentor, and supervise QC inspectors and other staff, assigning tasks and ensuring their compliance with procedures.

Conduct inspections and audits:

Oversee the inspection of incoming materials, in-process work, and finished goods to ensure they meet specifications and quality benchmarks. Perform internal and external quality audits.

Problem-solving and analysis:

Analyze quality data, conduct root cause analysis for defects, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Reporting and documentation:

Prepare and maintain detailed reports on quality control activities, test results, and inspections for management and regulatory bodies.

Cross-functional collaboration:

Work with engineering, production, and other departments to resolve quality issues and ensure product consistency and timely delivery.

Ensure compliance:

Ensure that all fabricated products and processes comply with relevant industry regulations, safety guidelines, and certifications.
Required qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is typically required.

Experience:

Several years of experience in a quality control or management role within the fabrication or manufacturing industry is necessary.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO standards, and methodologies like Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing. Proficiency in quality control procedures, inspection, and testing. Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
