Core Responsibilities
Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (e.g., ISO 9001) for the extrusion and post-extrusion processes.
Inspection and Testing: Oversee and perform all quality control checks, from raw material inspection (e.g., billet chemical composition, mechanical properties) to in-line checks (e.g., temperature, pressure, speed) and final product inspection (e.g., dimensional accuracy, surface finish, tensile strength, hardness).
Defect Analysis and Corrective Actions:
Identify, analyze, and document defects (e.g., surface imperfections, warping, dimensional inaccuracies).
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production rejections and customer complaints.
Implement Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) in collaboration with Production and Engineering teams to minimize defects and improve process efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all inspections, test results, quality control activities, and process deviations. Prepare quality reports and test certificates for customers.
Team Leadership and Training: Supervise, train, and mentor the QC team (Inspectors and Engineers) on quality standards, inspection techniques, and the use of precision measuring equipment.
Standards Compliance: Ensure all products and processes comply with relevant national and international standards (e.g., ASTM-B-221, BIS and ISO standards) and customer-specific requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Total Quality Management (TQM) and 5S to enhance product quality and reduce waste/rework costs.
