Perform inspections on raw materials, components (e.g., lead grids, separators, electrolytes), and finished batteries in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and specifications.
Conduct in-process checks during battery assembly (e.g., plate formation, electrolyte filling, charging process).
Use measurement tools and equipment such as voltmeters, hydrometers, specific gravity testers, weight scales, and digital micrometers to verify product quality.
Monitor and record data on parameters like voltage, capacity, electrolyte levels, internal resistance, and terminal torque.
Identify, document, and report non-conformities and deviations from product standards.
Collaborate with production teams to isolate defective batches and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949, and relevant automotive quality standards.
Prepare and maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation for audits and quality control logs.
Participate in internal and external audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure workplace safety standards are maintained, especially when handling hazardous materials like sulfuric acid and lead.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
2-5 years of QC experience in the automotive or battery manufacturing sector, preferably with lead-acid battery products.
Familiarity with quality tools and techniques such as 5S, 7 QC Tools, FMEA, CAPA, and SPC.
Experience with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 systems.
Basic understanding of battery performance parameters and testing methods.
Proficiency in MS Office and QC reporting tools.
