Qualifications & Experience

Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

5-8 years in QC / final inspection / dispatch in transformer manufacturing

Experience with distribution and/or power transformer

Job Purpose

The QC Engineer - Dispatch & Finishing is responsible for ensuring that transformers are fully compliant with quality, safety, and customer requirements before dispatch. This includes inspection of finishing, painting, accessories, packing, documentation, and dispatch readiness to ensure zero defects and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Final Inspection & Quality Clearance

Conduct final inspection of transformers after testing and tanking.

Verify dimensional accuracy, appearance, and completeness of assembly.

Ensure all punch points from testing and inspections are closed.

Issue quality clearance for dispatch.

2. Finishing & Painting Quality

Inspect surface preparation, primer and final paint coating.

Verify paint thickness (DFT), shade, gloss, and curing.

Ensure stenciling, nameplate, safety labels, and markings are as per standards.

Check corrosion protection and finishing quality.

3. Accessories & Fitment Verification

Verify correct installation of all accessories, including:

Bushings & covers

Conservator, breather, PRD, valves

Wheels, jacking pads, lifting lugs

Marshalling box and wiring (for power transformers)

Ensure tightening, sealing, and protection of all accessories.

4. Packing & Dispatch Readiness

Ensure packing method complies with customer, export, or domestic dispatch requirements.

Verify moisture protection, sealing, and mechanical protection during transit.

Check transformer oil level, nitrogen filling (if applicable), and transit locks.

Ensure safe loading and lashing arrangements.

5. Documentation & Compliance

Verify completeness and accuracy of dispatch documents, including:

Test certificates

GA drawings

Packing list

Warranty & quality documents

Ensure compliance with IS / IEC / customer specifications.

Support customer, third-party, and export inspections.

6. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action

Identify finishing or dispatch-related defects and raise NCRs.

Coordinate with Production and Maintenance for rectification.

Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?45,000.00 per month
