Job Description

Role Overview

The QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that air dryers and related components meet defined quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout the manufacturing process--from incoming materials to final dispatch.

Key ResponsibilitiesIncoming Quality Control (IQC)

Inspect raw materials and bought-out parts such as compressors, heat exchangers, valves, filters, PLC panels, and electrical components. Verify materials against drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Coordinate with suppliers for quality issues and corrective actions.

In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)

Monitor fabrication, assembly, welding, brazing, and piping activities. Ensure adherence to approved drawings, SOPs, and work instructions. Conduct dimensional, visual, and functional inspections during production. Identify defects and initiate corrective/preventive actions.

Final Quality Control (FQC)

Perform final inspection and testing of air dryers (Refrigerated / Desiccant). Conduct pressure tests, leak tests, performance tests, and safety checks. Verify electrical wiring, control panels, sensors, and interlocks. Approve products for dispatch and issue quality clearance.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain inspection reports, test records, calibration logs, and NCRs. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, safety standards, and customer requirements. Assist in internal and external quality audits.

Continuous Improvement

Analyze recurring defects and support root cause analysis (RCA). Work closely with production, design, and procurement teams to improve quality. Support implementation of quality tools (5S, Kaizen, CAPA).

Technical Skills Required

Knowledge of

air dryer systems

(Refrigerated / Desiccant). Understanding of

pressure vessels, piping, welding standards

, and leak testing. Ability to read

mechanical & electrical drawings

. Familiarity with

quality inspection tools

(Vernier, Micrometer, Pressure gauges). Basic knowledge of

PLC panels and electrical testing

(preferred). Experience with

ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

Qualification

Diploma / BE / BTech in

Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering

. Certification in Quality (preferred but not mandatory).

Behavioral Skills

Strong attention to detail. Good communication and coordination skills. Problem-solving mindset. Ability to work on the shop floor and handle pressure.
