Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Incoming Material Inspection

Inspect incoming raw materials such as: Sheet metal (GI, SS, aluminum) Motors, fans, pumps, bearings Electrical components (control panels, wiring, switches) Cooling pads, nozzles, pipes, fasteners Verify materials against purchase orders, specifications, and quality standards Maintain Incoming Quality Control (IQC) records Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming materials
2. In-Process Quality Inspection

Conduct routine inspections during fabrication and assembly of: Industrial air coolers Cooling towers Exhaust fans HVLS fans Duct coolers Check: Dimensions and tolerances Welding quality and alignment Surface finish, painting, and coating thickness Assembly correctness as per drawings and SOPs Monitor process parameters and highlight deviations
3. Final Inspection & Testing

Perform final quality inspection before packing and dispatch Assist in functional testing such as: Airflow performance Motor operation and vibration Noise levels Water circulation and leakage (for coolers and cooling towers) Ensure compliance with internal QC checklists and customer specifications
4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain quality inspection records, checklists, and test reports Assist in preparation of: Inspection reports Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) documents Ensure proper labeling, traceability, and record retention
5. Non-Conformance Handling

Identify quality defects and deviations Coordinate with production, stores, and maintenance teams for corrective actions Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures
6. Support to Quality Systems

Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 / internal quality systems Participate in internal audits and customer audits Help ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and safety standards
7. Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with: Production team Purchase and stores Communicate quality issues clearly and professionally
8. Safety & Housekeeping

Follow safety norms during inspections and testing Ensure proper handling of tools, gauges, and measuring instruments Promote 5S and good housekeeping practices
Tools & Instruments Used

Vernier calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes Thickness gauges (paint & sheet metal) Multimeters and basic electrical testing tools Airflow measuring instruments (if applicable) Inspection checklists and quality forms
Experience

1-3 years of experience in QC or manufacturing Experience in HVAC, air cooling, ventilation, or fan manufacturing preferred
Skills & Competencies

Basic knowledge of fabrication, assembly, and electrical components Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications Understanding of QC tools and inspection methods Attention to detail and strong observation skills Good documentation and reporting skills Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Word) Teamwork and communication skills
