The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering, fabrication, and manufacturing activities comply with company quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable codes. The role involves monitoring, inspecting, and documenting quality processes throughout the production cycle to maintain high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain QA/QC systems and procedures in line with ISO/ASME/other relevant standards.
Inspect raw materials, in-process work, and final products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
Prepare and review quality documents such as WPS, PQR, WPQ, ITP, NCR, and inspection reports.
Conduct welding, fabrication, and dimensional inspections as per project requirements.
Monitor NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT) and coordinate with third-party inspectors when required.
Maintain calibration records of inspection tools and equipment.
Support production teams by identifying quality issues and providing corrective/preventive action plans.
Liaise with clients and consultants for quality-related inspections and approvals.
Ensure documentation and record-keeping for audits and customer requirements.
Promote continuous improvement and quality awareness across departments.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of QA/QC standards in heavy fabrication and engineering.
Familiarity with ASME, ASTM, AWS, and ISO standards.
Hands-on experience in welding inspection and NDT coordination.
Proficiency in preparing QA/QC documentation and inspection reports.
Good communication and client handling skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Qualifications:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Certified in Welding Inspection / NDT Level II (preferred).
3-5 years of relevant QA/QC experience in heavy engineering / fabrication industry.
