The
QA Manager
leads the Quality Assurance function across multiple IT projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products through robust testing strategies, quality processes, and team leadership. This strategic role involves managing a team of QA professionals, developing test strategies, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and proactively driving process improvements.
The purpose of the
QA Manager
is to ensure consistent and efficient delivery of software testing activities across multiple products and systems. This includes
strategic planning of QA efforts
, preparation and execution of
comprehensive test plans

, and ensuring quality metrics are defined and met. The QA Manager also drives continuous improvement of QA processes, mentors QA team members, and ensures alignment with business objectives and user expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
QA Strategy & Planning: Define and execute a QA strategy aligned with business goals. Prepare scalable, reusable, and robust test plans and frameworks for cross-project testing.
Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of QA engineers. Set goals, conduct performance evaluations, and foster team development and productivity.
Test Planning and Execution: Develop and manage detailed test plans, test cases, test scripts, and execution timelines. Ensure >90% test coverage for all major releases.
Defect Management: Oversee defect lifecycle including triage, prioritization, root cause analysis, and resolution tracking. Reduce defect leakage into production.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with development, product, UX/UI, and release teams. Participate in planning meetings and code reviews to influence quality standards.
Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in QA processes. Define, document, and implement process improvements and QA best practices
Metrics and Reporting: Define QA KPIs. Track and report metrics like test coverage, defect density, test execution progress, and team productivity.
Tooling & Automation Oversight: Guide adoption and optimization of automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit). Promote automation coverage across projects.
Risk Management & Compliance: Identify risks proactively. Ensure QA activities comply with organizational, security, and industry standards.
Knowledge Management: Maintain QA documentation repository and ensure knowledge transfer across team members. Organize QA reviews and training initiatives
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
Total experience of 12-14 years with 7+ years in Software QA including 3+ years in a leadership/managerial role
Experience managing QA in complex, cross-functional software projects
Strong experience in both manual and automation testing
Domain knowledge of Higher Education sector preferred
