QA Lead - Mobile Application Development & Automation

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to drive quality assurance for our mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation, mobile application testing, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Strategy & Leadership

Define and implement comprehensive QA strategies for mobile application development Establish quality standards, best practices, and testing methodologies for mobile platforms Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers and automation specialists Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure quality objectives are met Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the QA function

Test Planning & Execution

Design detailed test plans and test cases for mobile applications (iOS/Android) Oversee functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing Ensure comprehensive test coverage across multiple devices, OS versions, screen sizes, and network conditions Coordinate testing activities within Agile/Scrum development cycles Manage defect lifecycle and prioritize bug fixes with development teams

Automation & CI/CD

Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for mobile testing Implement automated test suites using tools like Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, or similar Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.) Monitor and optimize automation test coverage and execution time Evaluate and recommend new automation tools and technologies

Mobile Testing Expertise

Perform testing across real devices and emulators/simulators Validate app behavior under various scenarios: poor network, low battery, interruptions, permissions Conduct compatibility testing across different device manufacturers and OS versions Ensure compliance with App Store and Google Play guidelines Test mobile-specific features: push notifications, location services, camera, sensors, etc.

Reporting & Communication

Generate comprehensive test reports and quality metrics Communicate testing status, risks, and issues to stakeholders Present quality insights and recommendations to leadership Maintain test documentation and knowledge base

Required Qualifications

Experience

7+ years of experience in software quality assurance 3+ years in a leadership or lead QA role 5+ years of hands-on experience with mobile application testing (iOS and Android) 3+ years of experience in test automation

Technical Skills

Mobile Automation:

Strong expertise in Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, Detox, or similar frameworks

Programming:

Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, Swift, or Kotlin

Testing Tools:

Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Firebase Test Lab, AWS Device Farm

API Testing:

REST API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools

CI/CD Tools:

Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Azure DevOps, or similar

Version Control:

Git/GitHub/GitLab

Bug Tracking:

JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools

Performance Testing:

Experience with mobile performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, etc.)

Domain Knowledge

Deep understanding of mobile app development lifecycle Knowledge of iOS and Android platform guidelines and best practices Understanding of mobile architectures (native, hybrid, cross-platform) Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies * Understanding of security testing principles for mobile applications
