- QA/QC Engineer (Piping Fabrication)
Educational Qualification:
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Certifications:
ASNT Level II certification in RT, UT, PT, and MT.
Job Purpose:
To ensure all quality assurance and quality control activities related to fabrication, welding, testing, and documentation of carbon steel (CS) and stainless steel (SS) piping are performed in compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control Activities
Inspect fabrication, fit-up, welding, and erection of piping spools as per approved drawings and WPS/PQR.
Monitor welding activities and verify welder qualifications, electrode handling, and welding consumable storage.
Conduct dimensional and visual inspections for piping components and assemblies.
Perform inspection of raw materials and verify mill test certificates (MTCs).
Ensure proper traceability of materials and weld joints.
Coordinate NDT activities (RT, UT, PT, MT) as per ITP and project requirements.
Witness hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, PMI, and other quality tests.
2. Quality Assurance & Documentation
Prepare and maintain project quality documents such as ITP, WPS, PQR, and weld maps.
Maintain calibration records of inspection tools and instruments.
Prepare and review inspection reports, NCRs, and corrective action records.
Compile and finalize Quality Dossiers / As-built Documentation for client approval.
Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies (TPI), consultants, and client representatives for inspection and approval.
3. Compliance & Standards
Ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASTM, API, and project specifications.
Support audits and quality surveillance visits by clients and certifying authorities (e.g., IBR, TPI).
Implement and maintain company Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
4. Coordination & Reporting
Report daily QA/QC activities and inspection status to QA/QC Manager or Project Engineer.
Participate in quality meetings and provide input on fabrication and inspection status.
Liaise with production, welding, and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of piping fabrication and welding processes (GTAW, SMAW).
Familiar with ASME, AWS, ASTM, and API codes.
Good understanding of NDT techniques and acceptance criteria.
Proficient in quality documentation and report preparation.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in QA/QC activities related to piping fabrication and erection for oil & gas, refinery, power, or process industries.

Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
