Position Overview:

We are seeking a Mid-Level Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer - Manual Testing to support the quality and integrity of data-driven applications. This role focuses on ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of Microsoft SQL Server databases and works closely with cross-functional teams to support Agile development and data reporting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and support Microsoft SQL Server-based Generate Databases. Ensure database security, reliability, and performance tuning. Implement backup strategies and disaster recovery protocols. Coordinate database updates, patches, and version controls with IT teams. Prepare and validate data for federal EDFacts reporting. Develop and document robust business rules for data processing. Ensure compliance with Common Education Data Standards (CEDS). Collaborate with state program sponsors and stakeholders to define data requirements. Create and maintain technical documentation including stored procedures, workflows, and reports. Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives.

Required Skill Set:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and experience with stored procedures. Hands-on experience in manual testing with a focus on data accuracy and validation. Proficient in Active Directory-based database security and compliance. Strong technical documentation and communication skills. Experience in backup, disaster recovery, and performance tuning of SQL databases.

Experience:

Minimum 6+ years of experience in writing and optimizing SQL Server queries. Minimum 4+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration.
