Department Profile:

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business.

Software Quality Engineering Center of Enablement (SQE COE) partners with Wealth Management development teams and partner technology organizations to enable the delivery of technology solutions to our business in the most efficient, predictable manner possible.

SQE COE is responsible for providing horizontal testing services for Desktop Certification, Automation Frameworks, Access Management and Contact Center across Wealth Management applications.

Position Overview:

Within SQE COE, Desktop Testing Services (DTS) fleet provides innovative testing solutions, establishes guardrails, and performs testing services for desktop software, tools and utilities installed over various platforms, hardware and networks to ensure stable and reliable desktop and infrastructure environment for Wealth Management users.

This fleet works on various projects with building/enhancing common testing and automation frameworks \xe2\x80\x94 for desktops, virtual machines, laptops, Chromebook, tablets, Mac across different networks \xe2\x80\x94 scope of which includes but is not limited to Operating System upgrades, Infrastructure upgrades, 3rd Party Software patches, Morgan Stanley apps, Desktop software and utilities, GPO and appsense changes etc.

As a Test Architect working in DTS program, you\'ll have a chance to help in designing & developing testing approach, influencing entire DRM workflows and processes, designing, creating or extending test automation frameworks, configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, provide advocacy etc. You will also work closely with Enterprise Technology and Services stakeholders to enable adoption of best testing practices and strategies through Shift Left and Advocacy approaches.

Responsibilities

  • As a test architect, work with the team members in solving complex problems and challenges

  • Lead a team of 3-4 team members within or outside the squad in a cross-vendor team structure

  • Collaborate with cross-divisional stakeholders and provide quality deliverables

  • Review requirement specifications, identify gaps, and determine testability and testing implications

  • Improvise testing and test automation processes and help define best practices while providing reusable and scalable ideas or solutions

  • Identify and create test scenarios, design and develop complex end-to-end test scripts

  • Perform periodic review of testing artifacts \xe2\x80\x94 reports, docs, test scenarios, automation scripts

  • Create or expand automation test frameworks and scripts for Operating Systems and desktop applications

  • Participate in test suite design and test case creation while tracking measurable quality metrics

  • Develop efficient tools and processes to improve software engineering productivity including CI/CD optimizations

  • Conduct POC and R&D on new tools/technologies, assessment on their fitment and provide recommendations.

  • Work closely and communicate progress to the leadership on a regular basis

  • Gain and share insights about Quality related issues and be the QA champion for all QA efforts and best practices in a continuously evolving environment




QUALIFICATIONS
8-10 years of experience in testing desktop applications including building, leading, managing and advocating best testing practices

  • 5+ years of experience in hardware and software upgrades, Operating System upgrades \xe2\x80\x94 Windows, Chrome OS, Mac OS etc.

  • Deep hands experience on IVU testing lifecycle (Installation, Verifications, Uninstallation) of tools and packages on desktops

  • Sound on knowledge on various deployment methods such as SCCM, BigFix, WinDeploy etc.

  • Knowledge of various desktop application packaging techniques

  • 4+ years of experience in test automation development of desktop-based applications using LeanFT, Test Complete etc.

  • 4+ years of experience in batch scripting such as PowerShell, Bash, Shell and WMI scripting etc.

  • Hands on experience on scripting languages such as Java or .NET or Python

  • Good to have understanding of Web based automation tools like Selenium webdriver, Cucumber, Cypress, TestNG etc.

  • Good to have experience in Mobile testing tools like Perfecto, SeeTest etc

  • Should have hands-on experience in CI/CD using TeamCity, GIT, Jenkins, JIRA Xray

  • Should have knowledge on test automation framework development - BDD, Data Driven and Keyword Driven frameworks

  • Experience of working in highly fast paced Agile based scrum teams and solving complex problems

  • Experience of working in teams spread across geographies and closely tracking deliverables

  • Excellent management, communication (written and oral), presentation and interpersonal skills.
