As a Quality Engineer, you will contribute to both manual and automated testing, ensuring our applications are reliable, stable, and well-validated. You will assist in developing both manual and automated tests for web and API layers, execute functional and regression test cycles, and maintain strong testing discipline. This role offers hands-on exposure to automation, CI/CD, and structured release processes, with a strong focus on learning, ownership, and cross-team collaboration.
Roles & Responsibilities
Automation & Testing
Assist in designing and developing basic automated test scripts for web and API testing using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Locust, Postman, and Python/TypeScript (tech depends on the delivery needs*). Execute automated and manual test cases, analyse results, and document findings with clarity and completeness.
Support API validation for key workflows and scenarios.
Participate in smoke, sanity, functional, and regression testing across environments (QA, UAT, STG, PROD).
Quality Assurance Process
Log defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behaviour, screenshots, logs, and environment details.
Maintain and update test documentation, including test cases, test data, test plans, and test summary reports.
Ensure test evidence is complete and easy to review.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with senior quality engineers, developers, BAs, and DevOps teams to understand requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
Participate in sprint ceremonies (standups, planning, reviews, retrospectives) with active, clear communication.
Learn and contribute to integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines under guidance.
Gain exposure to Azure DevOps, logs, environments, builds, and basic debugging.
Ownership & Work Ethic
Keep status boards up to date with progress, blockers, and timelines.
Communicate issues early without waiting for follow-ups.
Demonstrate discipline in closing loops, maintaining traceability, and following testing standards.
Show urgency during release cycles and respond promptly when needed.
Requirements
Technical Skills
0-2 years of experience in software testing (manual or automation).
Basic programming knowledge in TypeScript or JavaScript (academic/internship projects acceptable).
Exposure to automation frameworks/tools (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, Locust, Postman preferred).
Familiarity with web technologies, APIs, and basic debugging.
Understanding of testing fundamentals: SDLC, STLC, test case design techniques, defect lifecycle.
Exposure to CI/CD or cloud platforms (Azure preferred) is a plus.
