Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled

Senior Python Backend Developer

with deep expertise in building distributed, reliable, and secure backend systems. The ideal candidate is systems-oriented, collaborative, and capable of driving engineering excellence across microservices, data workflows, and cloud-native platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable backend services using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django). Build and optimize distributed systems, microservices, and asynchronous workflows (Celery). Develop reliable data pipelines with PostgreSQL/MySQL and event-streaming platforms (Kafka). Enforce strong data contracts, idempotency, and resilient system communication. Implement robust test architectures using PyTest, Hypothesis, and Locust for load testing. Drive observability practices--instrumenting metrics, logs, and traces for reliability. Work with Kubernetes, container-based CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). Implement secure API authentication (OAuth2), TLS certificate management, and encrypted communication. Support compliance efforts (HITRUST, HIPAA, FDA 510(k)) through secure design and audit-ready evidence. Collaborate across teams and treat testing, automation, and monitoring as first-class engineering components.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong experience in Python backend frameworks: FastAPI, Flask, Django. Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and asynchronous processing. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and event systems like Kafka. Expertise in testing frameworks: PyTest, Hypothesis, Locust. Strong observability skills in metrics, tracing, and logging. Proficiency with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern cloud environments. Knowledge of OAuth2, secure communication protocols, and certificate management. Understanding of security, compliance standards, and encryption practices.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

Experience with healthcare data standards:

HL7

or

FHIR

--message parsing, composition, and secure data exchange. Background in regulated environments (Healthcare, MedTech, etc.).
