Purpose of Role



To lead the academic and administrative functions of the school, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment. Role Definition



A frontline Academic leader with the responsibility of driving the Academic Goals to the very last level by providing leadership to the students, teachers taking care of their Academic aspirations and Admin needs.

Tasks & Activities



1. Delivering the Curriculum



a. In charge of curriculum implementation as per directions of the Principal

b. Understand the devised curriculum and the academic goals set. Convert or cascade the same to practical actionable items for the teachers to deliver.

c. Develop, clear teacher specific academic goals for teachers and provide support to them with necessary resource materials and guidance in achieving those goals.

d. Conduct regular collaborative meetings, stay backs to monitor and ascertain the progress made and guide the teachers who need help with the help of Principal

e. Actively contribute to the curriculum planning by gathering intelligence and feedbacks and create a database and evidence that will help support the principal to provide feedback to the core academic team in designing and implementing a relevant, challenging and rigorous curriculum.

f. Ensure planners are prepared and implemented in classrooms (yearly, monthly and unit planners). For CAS, PE and DTTE should be the yearly and monthly planners.

2. Operational In charge



a. Liaise with teachers in formation of daily timetable.

b. Ensure that the Teachers and the students are present and punctual for the day, timetable is being followed and substitution is put in place for absentees.

c. Ensure that the teachers are keeping accurate and complete records, conduct class observation, scrutinize the student diaries, notebooks and corrections by the teachers

d. Ensure the school happenings are in progress as per the rules laid down and report to the Principal on daily basis.

e. Manage and approve the attendances of the teachers and also take care of their work related needs and their emotional and professional wellbeing.

f. Regular communication with the admin department to address the parent needs and grievances.

g. Ensuring that the campus language, compliance tracker, disciplinary policy, culture and ethos are followed.

3. Supporting the STUDENTS



a. Being accountable for the academic, social and emotional well?being of children under your purview

b. Track student progress, set systems in place to identify the gaps and provide a support.

c. Motivate the class teacher to develop progressive personalized goals for each student depending on the student's capacity and ensure that the progression is carried out to the next class teacher.

d. Ensure that the teachers are keeping accurate and complete records of the progress of each student and the confidentiality is maintained.

e. Choose a value every two months and ensure these values are spoken about and exhibited across the campuses (in classes, corridors and assemblies)

4. People Management & Resource Management



a. Ensure optimal workload and work utilization for every teacher

b. Create a positive work climate where the teachers are satisfied personally and professionally. Always look out for teachers who are getting saturated and have an alternate plan for them.

c. Communicate and orient the academic goals to the respective teachers in the year beginning and conduct class observations and performance appraisals along with the Principal.

d. Assess, identify the support or training areas for individual teachers and suggest a professional development plan to the principal for every one of them.

e. Ensure that the resources and facilities provided by the school are used with care and not lying ideal. Also make suggestion to the Principal in case of any resource need.

f. New Staff orientation

g. Promote self-improvement, self-discipline, collaboration of work and Ethos of the school among the students and staff.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



1. Staff Retention at 90%

2. 100% Staff Training as per Training Policy (Maintenance of training and attendance log)

3. 100% Adherence to Punctuality and Working hours policy

4. Completion of Appraisals: 360-degree appraisal in Dec, KPIs and Training log in May/June

5. 90% attendance

6. Every Student should have his/her Individual Student Portfolio covering following aspects (Shared Once a year along with the student report March/April) - Grade 1 to 5

a. Student Classwork

b. Classroom Activities

c. Outbound Learning

d. Worksheets and assessment materials

e. CAS, PE activities

(Portfolio evidence to be pasted and shared in April in a bound portfolio book with write up of the purpose of the activity pasted next to it and also in digital format)

7. Minimum 2 class observation of each teacher in a term between June to November and submit the observation report to Principal.

8. CAS and PE portfolios by January to all parents in a digital format as per the template.

9. Monthly meeting with SMEs and facilitators - tracking portions, support programmes, performance analysis, recognizing team contributions and needs (Meeting minutes)

10. Mandatory posting - minimum 5 teaching and learning strategies, 5 contributions to resource pool for effective implementation in general/any subject per month

11. Maintaining student mark score record and ensuring each child is progressing - academic tracker.

12. Ensure that the Facilitator updates the "Open forum Teacher feedback register" before each open forum and ensure the feedbacks to the parent is given from it.

13. All templates related to planner and compliances to be followed.

14. IB PYP- toddle for planning

15. Reminder system implementation mapped to house points deduction with evidence
