IB PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme)
The
PYP Coordinator
will be responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and ongoing development of the IB Primary Years Programme at OWIS Whitefield. The role involves guiding teachers in effective PYP practices, ensuring curriculum alignment with IB standards, and fostering an inquiry-based learning environment that supports the holistic development of students.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of the IB PYP framework in line with IB standards and practices.
Guide, support, and mentor teachers in designing transdisciplinary and inquiry-based learning experiences.
Coordinate curriculum planning meetings and ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
Serve as the main point of contact between the school and the
IBO
for all PYP-related matters.
Oversee PYP documentation, including planners, unit reflections, and assessment records.
Plan and conduct professional development sessions to strengthen teachers' understanding of the PYP philosophy.
Monitor and support classroom instruction to ensure consistency and quality in teaching and learning.
Organize PYP exhibitions and lead preparations for IB evaluations and authorization visits.
Collaborate closely with the leadership team to ensure smooth communication and implementation across grades.
Requirements
Educational Qualification:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field.
Experience:
Minimum of
5 years of teaching experience
, with at least
2 years in a PYP or IB environment
; prior experience as a PYP Coordinator or team leader preferred.
Strong understanding of
IB philosophy, inquiry-based learning
, and
assessment for learning
.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mentor teachers and build a collaborative learning culture.
Preferred Skills
IB PYP certification or prior IB training.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Experience in school leadership and professional development facilitation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
