Civil Engineer - Contracts & Estimation (Permanent Way - Rail Track)

Qualification:

B.Tech / B.E in Civil Engineering

Key Responsibilities1. Estimation & Costing

Prepare detailed cost estimates for

Permanent Way (P-Way) Railway Track works

, including:

Track laying, sleepers, ballast, welding, tamping, alignment

Formation, drainage, blanketing, cess works, P-Way fittings, rails, turnouts, etc.

Rate analysis of

materials, manpower, equipment, and subcontracting

.

Preparation of

BOQ (Bill of Quantities)

and cost comparison sheets.

Verify drawings, specifications, and quantities for accuracy before estimation.

2. Contracts & Tendering

Study Tender documents, drawings, technical specifications, and contract conditions

.

Assist in

contract drafting, negotiation, and finalization

with clients and subcontractors.

Manage contract documentation, amendments, and variations.

3. Execution Support & Billing

Coordinate with project and site teams for work progress, measurements, and RA bills.

Prepare and verify

client and subcontractor bills

, variations, and claims.

Monitor budget vs actual cost and provide variance analysis.

Maintain records for extra items, deviation items, and escalation claims.

4. Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with

Railway authorities, consultants, vendors, and internal teams

.

Prepare MIS reports related to tendering, contracts, billing, and project cost status.

Maintain all contract records, correspondence, and approvals systematically.

Required Skills & Competencies

? In-depth knowledge of

Permanent Way / Rail Track construction

? Proficiency in

BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and estimation

? Strong understanding of

tendering and contract management

? Familiarity with

IRPWM, RDSO, and Railway specifications

? Excellent negotiation and communication skills
? Proficiency in

MS Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD

(preferred)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?35,000.00 - ?50,000.00 per month
