We are seeking an experienced Industrial Coating Specialist to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in the industrial coating sector, demonstrating expertise in surface preparation and application of coatings to ensure durability and quality.A plastisol compounding chemical engineer specializes in formulating, developing, and testing liquid PVC dispersions used for coatings, molding, and adhesives. They manage the precise mixture of emulsion-polymerized PVC resins, plasticizers, fillers, and stabilizers to achieve specific viscosity, hardness, and thermal properties.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, or applying primers as needed. Mix and apply industrial coatings according to specifications and safety guidelines. Inspect coated surfaces for quality assurance and perform touch-ups as required. Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition and report any malfunctions. Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations during the coating process. Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Key Technical Skills

Formulation Development:

Designing blends of PVC resin, plasticizers (e.g., DINP, DOP, DOTM), and additives (pigments, stabilizers, fillers) to meet application-specific requirements like Shore hardness, tensile strength, and color.

Rheology & Viscosity Control:

Managing the flow characteristics of the plastisol for processes such as rotational molding, dip coating, or screen printing.

Fusion & Gelation Optimization:

Ensuring correct curing at temperatures between 180-200C to achieve a homogeneous solid.

Quality Control (QC):

Testing for viscosity, thermal stability, adhesion, and flexibility to ensure consistency.

Troubleshooting:

Addressing issues such as settling, improper viscosity, or poor adhesion.

Skills and Qualifications

5-10 years of experience in industrial coating ,PVC Leather Cloth, Synthetic Leather, Artificial Leather or a related field. Proficiency in using coating application for industries. Strong knowledge of various types of coatings, including epoxy, polyurethane, and enamel. Familiarity with surface preparation techniques and safety practices in coating application. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings. Good physical stamina and ability to work in various environmental conditions..
