Coordinate and manage the purchasing activities of the company
Analyze the needs of the organization and determine the goods or services needed
Research potential vendors and compare their products, prices, and services
Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers
Place purchase orders and ensure that orders are delivered on time
Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts
Review and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
Monitor inventory levels and determine when to place orders for new supplies
Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with company policies and government regulations
Resolve issues and discrepancies with orders and invoices
Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities and cost analyses to management
