We are hiring an experienced

Purchaser - Suitings & Shirtings

for our

B2C textile retail business

. The role focuses on sourcing trendy, high-quality suiting and shirting fabrics that meet end-customer preferences, ensuring timely availability across retail outlets while maintaining optimal inventory and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Management

Source and finalize mills and suppliers for suiting and shirting fabrics aligned with B2C retail demand Build long-term vendor partnerships to ensure consistent quality, pricing, and delivery Negotiate purchase costs, payment terms, and lead times Maintain and review the Approved Vendor List (AVL)

Fabric Sourcing & Market Trends

Track customer buying patterns, seasonal demand, and regional preferences Source fabrics such as cotton, poly-cotton, Giza cotton, linen blends, and new-age blends Stay updated with fashion trends, finishes, and fabric innovations relevant to retail customers Benchmark competitor retail offerings for quality, design, and pricing

Purchase Order & Supply Planning

Raise purchase orders based on sales forecasts, store requirements, and replenishment plans Ensure accuracy of fabric specifications (GSM, width, color, pattern, composition) Monitor order status and proactively resolve delays or shortages

Inventory & Replenishment Control

Maintain healthy stock levels across stores and central warehouse Coordinate with warehouse and retail teams for fast-moving and repeat items Control slow-moving and dead stock through better planning and vendor coordination

Quality Control

Work closely with the QC team to inspect incoming fabric lots Ensure fabrics meet retail quality standards (color fastness, shrinkage, feel, and durability) Manage quality claims, replacements, or credit notes with suppliers

Reporting & Coordination

Maintain procurement documentation and purchase records Prepare cost analysis, vendor performance reports, and monthly purchase summaries Coordinate with merchandising, retail, and marketing teams for new launches and promotions Attend exhibitions, fabric fairs, and vendor meets for new sourcing opportunities

Required Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory experience in textile purchasing (Suitings & Shirtings - B2C/Retail) Strong understanding of fabric specifications and retail customer preferences Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills Experience with ERP / inventory systems (SAP, Tally, or similar) Diploma or Degree in Textile Technology, Fashion Merchandising, or Supply Chain preferred

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?35,000.00 per month
