Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning
Understand monthly & weekly production plans and translate them into procurement requirements
Prepare purchase plans for raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and spares
Ensure minimum inventory levels while avoiding overstocking
Vendor Management
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for raw materials and packaging
Conduct price comparisons and negotiate cost, credit terms, and delivery timelines
Maintain approved vendor list and supplier performance scorecards
Develop alternate supplier base to mitigate supply risks
Cost Control & Optimization
Monitor market price trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction
Work closely with Finance to control procurement budgets
Support per-unit cost calculation and margin improvement initiatives
Quality & Compliance
Ensure procurement materials meet food-grade, quality, and compliance standards
Coordinate with Production & QA teams for quality validation
Maintain proper documentation (invoices, GRNs, compliance certificates)
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain purchase records, contracts, and vendor agreements
Generate procurement MIS reports and cost analysis
Support audits and compliance checks
