Job Description

The Vendor Development Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing suppliers for sheet metal and mechanical engineering components. The role ensures vendors meet technical, quality, cost, and delivery requirements through continuous improvement and collaboration with internal teams

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with good academic grades

4-6 years in Sheet Metal & Engineering Components

4-6 years in Vendor Development

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITIES

Knowledge of general manufacturing process as employed in a shop floor

Strong understanding

of mechanical design, fabrication, and machining processes.

Should be able to

interpret Engineer Drawing and the process involved.

Knowledge of material properties and process capability.

Must have aptitude for learning on the field.

Hands-on experience in sheet metal, fabrication, and component validation.

Excellent negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.

Vendor Identification & Development:

Identify, qualify, and develop reliable suppliers for sheet metal and engineering components from drawing to production stage.

Technical Evaluation:

Interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and tolerances to guide vendors in manufacturing processes.

Process & Quality Management:

Conduct process audits, first article inspections, and approve samples to ensure product quality and compliance with standards.

Cost & Performance Optimization:

Work with suppliers to achieve cost reduction targets without compromising on quality and delivery timelines.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

Collaborate with Design, Production, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth production transitions.

Alternate Source Development:

Develop Alternate suppliers to minimize risk and improve supply chain reliability.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
