Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Purchase & Store Manager with a background in Electrical Engineering to oversee procurement and inventory management of electrical materials, components, and equipment. This dual-role position requires both technical knowledge and managerial skills to ensure the timely purchase, receipt, storage, and issuance of materials essential to project execution and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement:
Understand technical specifications and project requirements to source the right products at competitive prices.
Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers for electrical and general materials.
Issue RFQs, compare quotations, and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and credit terms.
Generate and track purchase orders; ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
Coordinate with engineering and project teams to forecast material requirements.
Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure adherence to company policies and budgets.
Stores/Inventory Management:
Manage day-to-day store operations, including receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials.
Maintain proper inventory levels of electrical components, tools, and consumables to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
Implement and maintain inventory control systems to track stock movement and generate reports.
Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and storage of materials as per safety and organizational guidelines.
Coordinate with project/site teams for timely material dispatch and replenishment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in purchase and/or store management in an engineering, construction, or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of electrical equipment, systems, and technical specifications.
Proficient in inventory and procurement software (e.g., Tally, SAP, ERP systems).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge of safety standards and material handling best practices.
Experience with store documentation: GRNs, issue slips, inward/outward registers, etc.
Ability to manage vendors & Stocks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with ISO procedures and inventory control audits.
Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors preferred.
