The Purchaser/Purchasing Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of purchasing strategies. He/She identifies potential suppliers to secure cost-effective sources . He/She establishes and maintains good relationships with suppliers to negotiate for the best terms. The Purchaser/Purchasing Manager monitors supplier performance in terms of on-time delivery, quality and cost. He/She establishes key performance measurements to evaluate the purchasing process. He/She drafts and reviews purchase contracts to ensure relevance to market trends. He/She also prepares monthly status reports for management review.

Analyse, monitor and forecast inventory levels. Award contracts in accordance with purchasing best practices. Coordinate local and overseas delivery. Generate monthly purchasing report for management. Initiate and lead cost saving initiatives. Liaise with local and overseas suppliers. Maintain and update the approved supplier list. Monitor and keep optimal inventory levels. Review ageing inventory on a monthly basis. Source, evaluate and qualify suppliers.
