Develop, lead, and execute strategic purchasing plans for furniture and related components.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Work closely with design, production, and logistics teams to understand material requirements and ensure timely deliveries.
Maintain and analyze purchasing data to track trends, forecast demands, and optimize inventory levels.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and legal regulations.
Manage procurement budgets, cost-saving initiatives, and risk assessments.
Handle issues related to defective materials, delivery delays, or supplier disputes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the
furniture
or
manufacturing
industry.
Strong knowledge of furniture materials (wood, fabric, metal, etc.), fittings, and supply chain dynamics.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in procurement software (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with international sourcing and import/export regulations.
Understanding of sustainable and eco-friendly materials.
Experience with just-in-time (JIT) and lean inventory practices.
