Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Sourcing
Develop and execute procurement strategies specific to the
paper manufacturing industry
.
Source and purchase key raw materials such as
waste paper, pulp, kraft, packaging materials
, etc.
Ensure cost?effective purchasing while maintaining required quality standards.
Evaluate vendor quotations and negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, and contracts.
2. Vendor Development & Management
Identify, assess, and onboard reliable suppliers for raw materials, spares, and machinery.
Maintain strong relationships with domestic and international vendors.
Conduct periodic vendor performance evaluations based on quality, delivery, compliance, and cost.
3. Inventory & Material Planning
Coordinate with production, planning, and quality teams to forecast material requirements.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment to avoid production downtime.
Optimize stock levels and reduce dead inventory.
4. Cost & Budget Control
Implement cost?saving initiatives without affecting material quality.
Prepare and manage procurement budgets, price comparisons, and cost analysis reports.
Track market trends related to pulp paper, imported raw materials, and chemicals.
5. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and import/export norms.
Oversee purchase orders, contracts, GRNs, delivery schedules, and vendor documentation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records.
6. Cross?Functional Coordination
Collaborate with the production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and finance departments.
Resolve any supply-related issues affecting production schedules.
Required Qualifications & Skills Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Engineering, or related field.
MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Materials Management is a plus.
Experience
5-10+ years of procurement experience
, with
minimum 3-5 years in the paper industry
(paper mills, packaging paper, kraft paper, tissue, or board manufacturing).
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of raw materials used in paper manufacturing.
Understanding of import procedures and global pulp market trends.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally).
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and vendor negotiation abilities.

Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
