Role Overview: Purchase Manager
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchase Manager to oversee procurement and inventory operations for our solar division. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in sourcing solar components, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely material availability for projects. Strong knowledge of solar panels, balance-of-system (BOS) items, and industry standards is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end procurement of solar components, including panels, inverters, mounting structures, cables, and other BOS items.
Develop and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality compliance, and timely deliveries.
Monitor and maintain optimum inventory levels at warehouses and project sites.
Coordinate with project, engineering, and logistics teams to understand material requirements and ensure seamless supply chain flow.
Evaluate suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and service agreements with vendors.
Oversee purchase order creation, tracking, and documentation aligning with company policies.
Conduct regular inventory audits and implement best practices for inventory control.
Analyse market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product developments in the solar industry.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, and internal procurement guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
4-7 years of experience in procurement and inventory management, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
Strong knowledge of solar panels, components, and industry specifications.
Proven experience in vendor management, negotiation, and sourcing strategies.
Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Office, and inventory management tools.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
