The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all procurement activities to ensure timely availability of materials, products, and services at optimal cost, quality, and delivery terms. The role focuses on vendor management, cost control, negotiation, and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies aligned with business goals
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors
Ensure timely procurement of materials and services as per production or operational needs
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores/warehouse teams
Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with approval processes
Track market trends, pricing, and supplier performance
Manage contracts, pricing agreements, and payment terms
Resolve supplier-related issues such as delays, quality problems, or shortages
Collaborate with finance, production, and quality teams
Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
Generate procurement reports and cost analysis for management
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
Proven experience as a Purchase Manager or similar role
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory control, and supply chain practices
Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel
Excellent communication and analytical skills
