Job Summary: The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, and procuring raw materials, consumables, and services required for printing and packaging operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing, timely availability of material, and consistent quality by managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and coordinating closely with production, stores, and finance teams. The incumbent will optimize inventory levels, ensure compliance with company policies, and support uninterrupted manufacturing operations through efficient procurement strategies.
Industry:
Printing & Packaging (mandatory)
Location: Oragadam, Chennai Qualification:Bachelor's / Master's Degree in relevant field
Experience: Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in Printing & Packaging industry only
Key Responsibilities:
1) Manage procurement of paper, board, inks, chemicals, consumables, and packaging materials
2) Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
3) Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules
4) Ensure timely availability of materials while optimizing cost and quality
5) Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and stores teams
6) Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
Required Skills:
1) Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
2) In-depth knowledge of printing and packaging materials
3) Good communication and analytical abilities
4) ERP / SAP knowledge preferred
