Job Purpose
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing the procurement function, ensuring
timely and cost-effective purchase of materials, services, and equipment. He will lead and
supervise a team of purchase executives, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with
company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
? Lead, mentor, and manage the team of Purchase Executives.
? Plan, direct, and coordinate procurement activities to ensure availability of materials and
services.
? Develop and implement procurement strategies to reduce costs without compromising
quality.
? Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers.
? Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable deals.
? Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and quality standards in all
purchases.
? Monitor purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve discrepancies or delays.
? Maintain proper records of purchase activities, contracts, and supplier performance.
? Collaborate with other departments (Stores, Finance, Operations, Projects) for seamless
procurement planning.
? Regularly review and update procurement policies, procedures, and vendor database.
? Prepare periodic reports on purchase performance, cost savings, and vendor evaluations
for management.
Team Management
? Supervise a team of Purchase Executives handling different branches.
? Allocate responsibilities, set performance goals, and review team performance.
? Provide training, guidance, and motivation to the purchase team for enhanced
productivity.
? Ensure coordination between the team and internal departments for smooth operations.
Key Skills & Competencies
? Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain management.
? Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
? Leadership and people management ability.
? Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/Purchase management software.
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications & Experience
? Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management / Business Administration / Commerce /
Engineering (preferred).
? MBA or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
? Minimum 7-10 years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial
role.
? Experience in handling a team and managing multi-branch operations will be preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ?50,000.00 - ?60,000.00 per month
