Objective

:

To manage end-to-end procurement of packaging materials, raw materials, consumables, and other related purchase activities efficiently. The role is to ensures timely availability of materials at competitive prices while maintaining vendor relationships and adhering to quality and compliance standards.

Key Result Areas

:

1.

Procurement Operations -

oResponsible for sourcing and procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables
oNegotiate with vendors to ensure optimal pricing, delivery terms, and quality
oDevelop alternate suppliers to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity
oCoordinate with production, quality, stores, and finance departments for procurement planning and budgeting

2. Vendor Management -

oIdentify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers with appropriate audits and compliance
oMonitor vendor performance in terms of quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and service
oBuild long-term relationships with vendors and conduct regular review meetings

3. Inventory & Cost Control -

oMonitor inventory levels and initiate timely procurement to avoid stock-outs
oMaintain cost efficiency without compromising quality and delivery standards
oSupport the finance team in cost analysis and purchase planning

4. Documentation & Systems -

oEnsure timely creation of purchase orders and approvals in ERP (SAP/SAGE/Oracle or similar)
oMaintain accurate procurement records and adhere to all statutory and internal compliance norms
oMonitor procurement KPIs and prepare regular reports for management review

5. Cross-functional Coordination -

oCollaborate with R&D/technical teams for new material development or specification changes
oSupport plant and operations teams with urgent requirements and critical supply needs
oWork with logistics/transport team for timely inward of material

Key Competencies:

Knowledge of raw material and packaging material procurement
Familiarity with chemical industry procurement norms and statutory compliances
Proficiency in negotiation, costing, and commercial terms
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics)
Knowledge of import procurement and vendor development (if applicable)
