Job Description

An IT Hardware Purchase Manager oversees the end-to-end procurement of technology assets (laptops, servers, networking gear) for a company, focusing on cost optimization, quality, and compatibility, by managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, implementing procurement policies, analyzing market trends, and ensuring timely delivery while aligning purchases with IT strategy and budget. Key duties include sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation (SLAs, pricing), PO processing, inventory control, and maintaining procurement records. Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Policy:

Develop and implement IT procurement policies, procedures, and cost-saving strategies.

Sourcing & Vendor Management:

Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with IT hardware OEMs, distributors, and suppliers (e.g., Dell, HP, Cisco).

Negotiation:

Secure best pricing, credit terms, delivery schedules, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Procurement Cycle:

Manage the full cycle from requisition to delivery, including purchase orders, tracking, and asset management.

Technical Alignment:

Work with IT teams to define specifications and ensure purchases meet technical requirements and roadmap.

Inventory & Cost:

Maintain optimal stock levels, track asset lifecycle, and analyze total cost of ownership (TCO).

Reporting:

Monitor vendor performance, track spend (actual vs. planned), and report on procurement activities.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

Proven experience in IT hardware procurement, supply chain, or related fields.

Technical Knowledge:

Understanding of IT hardware components, OEM channels, and technology trends.

Business Acumen:

Strong negotiation, analytical, budgeting, and cost-reduction skills.

Tools:

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and procurement software.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in IT, Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.
