Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic
Purchase Manager
to oversee and manage all procurement activities of the organization. The Purchase Manager will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and optimizing procurement processes to support operational efficiency and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Planning
Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
Forecast procurement needs and create purchase plans based on project and production requirements.
Vendor Management
Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors.
Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and service standards.
Purchasing Operations
Manage day-to-day purchasing activities including purchase requisitions, RFQs, POs, and order tracking.
Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services to avoid disruptions in operations.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, delivery, and inventory.
Cost Optimization & Budgeting
Analyze market trends to identify pricing trends and cost-saving opportunities.
Work closely with finance and operations teams to manage procurement budgets and control costs.
Process Improvement & Compliance
Develop and implement procurement policies, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, including import/export regulations if applicable.
Team Leadership (if applicable)
Supervise and mentor a team of purchasing officers or buyers.
Provide training, guidance, and performance reviews to ensure departmental effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
MBA or certification in procurement (e.g., CPP, CIPS, CSCP) is a plus.
Minimum of
5-10 years
of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and MS Excel.
Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
Preferred Experience:
Industry-specific knowledge (e.g., manufacturing, construction, FMCG, automotive, etc.).
Experience with global sourcing or international procurement.
Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
Working Conditions:
Office-based with occasional travel to vendor sites, factories, or warehouses.
May require flexible hours depending on supplier time zones and project deadlines.
