Position Overview:

The

Purchase Head

will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities -- ensuring

timely, cost-effective, and quality sourcing

of materials and components. This role involves strategic supplier management, cost control, and alignment with LEAN manufacturing principles to drive efficiency and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:Strategic Procurement

Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with LEAN principles (KANBAN, single-piece flow, JIT). Identify and partner with reliable vendors ensuring quality, cost, and timely delivery.

Supplier Management

Negotiate and manage supplier contracts with a focus on cost optimization and quality assurance. Evaluate supplier performance based on key KPIs (lead time, quality, cost). Build long-term supplier relationships for sustained growth.

Inventory & Cost Management

Implement inventory control systems to balance stock availability and holding costs. Coordinate with production teams to optimize stock levels and reduce waste. Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals.

LEAN Integration & Compliance

Drive procurement alignment with LEAN manufacturing objectives. Ensure adherence to all regulatory, policy, and ethical procurement standards. Maintain up-to-date records of procurement transactions and supplier agreements.

Leadership & Scalability

Lead and mentor the purchasing team, fostering accountability and efficiency. Design scalable procurement processes to support company expansion. Anticipate future requirements based on production and growth forecasts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business (MBA preferred).

Experience:

8-12 years in procurement/supply chain management (preferably in organizations with ?50+ crore turnover).

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of LEAN, KANBAN, and JIT systems. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and procurement software. Knowledge of supplier quality standards and evaluation frameworks.

Soft Skills:

Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities. Ability to manage teams and align departmental goals with company strategy.
