The Purchase Head will be responsible for leading the entire procurement function of the organization, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for real estate and construction projects. The role demands strategic planning, vendor management, cost optimization, and adherence to company policies and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies aligned with company goals and project requirements.
Plan and oversee the procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services across multiple projects.
Identify, evaluate, and manage reliable vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable conditions.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the project and site teams for material requirements and delivery schedules.
Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, budgetary guidelines, and statutory requirements.
Conduct market research to stay updated on price trends, material innovations, and new suppliers.
Lead and mentor the purchase team to enhance efficiency and accountability.
Collaborate closely with Project Management, Finance, and Engineering departments for smooth procurement operations.
Establish performance metrics and reporting systems to track procurement effectiveness and vendor performance.
Manage purchase documentation, approvals, and audit compliance.

Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
In-depth knowledge of construction materials, vendors, and market dynamics.
Excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to handle multiple projects and work under deadlines.
Strong ethical standards and a results-driven approach.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
MBA in Supply Chain / Operations (preferred).
Experience:
Minimum
10-15 years
in procurement, with at least
5 years in a leadership role
within the
real estate or construction industry.
