Position Overview

The

Purchase Head

will lead the procurement strategy and operations for all raw materials, trims, accessories, and consumables across the group. This role will ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-compliant sourcing to meet production schedules and business goals while fostering strong supplier relationships and driving supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Strategy & Leadership

Develop and execute the company's purchasing strategy in alignment with production and business objectives. Identify, evaluate, and approve suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability. Implement centralized procurement processes to optimize cost and efficiency across all units.

2. Supplier Management

Negotiate favorable contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors. Establish and monitor supplier performance KPIs for quality, delivery, and compliance. Build long-term, trust-based relationships with local and international suppliers.

3. Cost & Inventory Control

Ensure competitive procurement costs without compromising quality. Work closely with Production Planning to forecast material requirements. Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.

4. Compliance & Sustainability

Ensure all purchases comply with buyer requirements, environmental standards, and ethical sourcing policies. Monitor and maintain certifications related to raw materials (e.g., Oeko-Tex, GOTS).

5. Process Improvement & Technology

Implement ERP-based procurement management systems for real-time tracking. Drive continuous improvement in sourcing, vendor development, and cost optimization.

6. Team Leadership

Lead and mentor the procurement team across multiple factory locations. Build capability through training in negotiation, sourcing trends, and compliance standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Textile Technology, or Business Administration (MBA preferred).

15+ years

of progressive experience in procurement, preferably in apparel manufacturing, with

5+ years

in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of textile raw materials, trims, and apparel supply chains. Proven track record in supplier negotiation and cost management. Experience with ERP systems and procurement analytics. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
