The Purchase Executive (MEP Site) is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works. The role ensures timely availability of all required items at the project site while maintaining cost efficiency, quality standards, and compliance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Sourcing
Identify, evaluate, and finalize vendors for MEP materials and equipment.
Obtain and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
Prepare purchase orders (POs) and follow up for timely delivery.
Source urgent/critical materials from local markets when required.
2. Material Management
Coordinate with site engineers, storekeepers, and project managers to understand material requirements.
Track daily material consumption and upcoming requirements to avoid shortages.
Ensure all MEP materials meet approved specifications and standards.
3. Vendor Management
Maintain good relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and payment conditions.
Evaluate vendor performance based on delivery accuracy, quality, and service.
4. Coordination & Documentation
Coordinate with accounts for vendor payments and documentation.
Maintain accurate records of quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and delivery challans.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and audit requirements.
5. Market Knowledge
Keep updated on MEP materials, suppliers, market trends, and price fluctuations.
Recommend cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
6. Site Support
Coordinate with logistics and transporters for smooth delivery to site.
Track dispatches and ensure material reaches on time.
Support site teams in resolving material-related issues or delays.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of MEP materials (Electrical cables, conduits, HVAC items, pumps, GI/CI fittings, plumbing materials, etc.)
Good negotiation & communication skills
Vendor sourcing and relationship management
Understanding of BOQs, technical specifications & drawings
ERP knowledge (optional but preferred)
Time management & multi-tasking
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical background with MEP experience.
2-6 years of experience in procurement for construction/MEP projects.
Experience working at project sites preferred.
Salary: 35K to 40K
