Purchase Engineer with around 1-3 years of experience, the roles and responsibilities typically focus on supporting procurement activities under guidance and gaining hands-on exposure to the procurement process. Key responsibilities at this experience level usually include:
Assisting in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
Reviewing purchase requisitions, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand procurement requirements.
Preparing and issuing purchase orders, maintaining records, and tracking material deliveries.
Supporting vendor communication for order clarification, follow-ups, and resolving basic procurement issues.
Participating in price negotiations and supplier evaluations under the supervision of senior engineers.
Coordinating with internal teams like engineering and quality to ensure purchased materials meet required specifications.
Assisting with documentation, compliance checks, and contract administration tasks.
Monitoring supplier performance and reporting any deviations or problems to senior purchasing staff.
