The Junior Purchase Executive will be responsible for supporting the purchase department in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services for the organization. The role involves handling vendor communication, preparing purchase orders, maintaining records, and ensuring timely availability of materials while adhering to company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in sourcing and identifying reliable suppliers/vendors.
Collect and compare quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) in ERP/system.
Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials and services.
Maintain updated records of purchases, pricing, and delivery schedules.
Coordinate with stores, accounts, and production teams regarding material requirements.
Assist in vendor evaluation and performance monitoring.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and statutory norms.
Support in maintaining minimum inventory levels.
Handle petty cash/local purchase requirements when necessary.
Skills & Competencies Required:
Basic knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with ERP software (SAP/Tally/Oracle) is an added advantage.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline (preferably B.Com / BBA / B.E / Diploma in Engineering / MBA in Supply Chain or Operations).
0-2 years of experience in purchase/procurement. (Freshers can also apply if trained/interned).
