Purchase Executive (Steel/Ancillary Plants)

Location: Bankura Plant or Head Office (Chandni, Kolkata)

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: ?3.00 - 3.50 Lakhs CTC per annum

We are seeking a technically qualified Purchase Executive with expertise in Mechanical and Electrical fields to join our steel/ancillary manufacturing operations. This role involves sourcing materials for Sponge Iron Kiln, TMT, Billets, and related processes, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, and managing procurement efficiently. Reporting directly to the Manager-Purchase, you will play a key role in optimizing supply chain for our plant and head office.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and procure raw materials, spares, and equipment based on technical specifications for steel production processes (Sponge Iron Kiln, TMT, Billets, etc.)

Prepare, negotiate, and issue Purchase Orders while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards

Coordinate with vendors, evaluate suppliers, and maintain inventory records using computer systems

Travel regularly between Bankura Plant and Head Office as needed to support operations

Ensure timely delivery, quality checks, and compliance with procurement policies

Requirements:

Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (technical knowledge of specifications essential)

2+ years of hands-on experience in procurement/purchasing within steel plants or ancillary industries (Sponge Iron, TMT, Billets preferred)

Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, ERP systems for PO creation and inventory management)

Willingness to travel between plant and head office

Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
